Shantiniketan Home, the residency of the senior citizens is a place where body and mind take a refreshing dip into pure air, and serenity, giving a new dimension to bliss. Many young people in India are migrating to other cities within the country and beyond in search of better education or employment. Even if they want cannot relocate or accommodate their parents with them. Elders are sometimes too incapacitated or unwell to look after themselves or get medical care, especially in an emergency.

It is our conviction that a senior citizen deserves more than an old age facility. They deserve to enjoy the pleasure of loving, wish they live long but none would be old. It is wrong to assume that elderly people wish to shut themselves off from the world and live their remaining lives in isolation. They need friends, company, stimulation, and empathy it is our endeavor to integrate them into daily activities where one surges for the sky.
Having established a mission let us see how Shantiniketan Oldage Home went about developing a model. Keeping in mind our conviction of not isolating senior citizens, we have chosen a place in an urban setting in a quiet locality with idyllic surroundings in a calm pollution free environment where they have quick access to all the facilities in the city near Thakurpukur, Joka. From malls and shopping complexes to medical institutions and hospitals, all modern amenities are available within 1 kilometer. The place is in close proximity to the Metro Railway Station also.
